Using storytelling and strategy to build awareness, foster connection, and amplify a powerful mission.
Silver Linings Montana is a Missoula-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting women and families impacted by breast cancer through community, movement, and education. When we began working together, our shared goal was to increase awareness by strengthening their online presence and building deeper, more meaningful connections with their audience.
Our content strategy focused on two key areas: promoting upcoming events like Paddle Palooza and the Montana Dragon Boat Festival, and highlighting the vibrant daily life of their survivor community. Through consistent, high-quality storytelling and active engagement, we brought this mission to life online, resulting in a gain of nearly 100 followers and a 2% boost in platform engagement in just three months, and an average engagement rate of nearly 5%, which was significantly above the previous quarter’s rate. *For reference, the average social media engagement rate typically falls between 1% and 3.5% across various platforms.
Working with Silver Linings Montana reminded me of the power of social media to cultivate community and bring people together around shared experiences, support, and purpose. This project was perfectly aligned with my mission to use social media for good, transforming digital platforms into spaces of connection, empowerment, and impact.
